Experts From the Healthcare Industry Discuss Measures for a Better Working Environment

Which health worker would not like to have better working conditions? The GALA project aims to address this question precisely. For this purpose, it is important to take the perspective of health professionals over. For example, by means of a Delphi workshop:

On March 25, 2022, a Delphi expert workshop took place as part of the GALA project. The IAW – Institut für Arbeitswissenschaft (Institute of Industrial Engineering and Ergonomics) – organized the digital workshop under the topic “Effects of the Corona Crisis in the Healthcare Sector Aachen”. The workshop was attended by experts from the healthcare sector, for example from the fields of nursing, medical technology and physiotherapy. The aim was to develop answers and solutions to these questions: “How did the Corona crisis affect your professional activities in the healthcare sector? What measures would be useful for your work in case of a new Corona wave? Furthermore, what measures should be institutionalized?”. To identify answers, the IAW presented three Corona scenarios as well as possible measures that could be applied to react to these scenarios. The experts were asked to evaluate these measures from the subjects “Healthy Working and Agility” and “Digital Collaboration and Human-machine Interaction”. Interestingly, there were measures that were urgently recommended, even independently of the pandemic situation, such as establishing a working group for data protection. The results show us a great need to advance working in the healthcare industry.
