IAW Initiates Project With Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg

The IAW started a research project on October 1, 2021, to investigate transitions between academic and vocational education at DQR level 6 in association with Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg. The aim of the research network is to promote mutual permeability between vocational and academic pathways.

First, the team investigates existing individual approaches to the design of such transitions in local regions with an empirical approach. Both institutional and educational biographical perspectives will be included. The results will help to create an intervention concept in order to identify suitable approaches and models for the further development of reciprocal permeability between vocational further education and higher education system. In this way, the outcome will ensure the attractiveness of the vocational training and continuing education system and attract new target groups to the middle management level.

This research and development project with the research focus “Education in the World of Work” is funded by the Hans-Böckler-Foundation and its duration is set to October 1, 2021 to March 30, 2023.
