In August, the project “workHEALTH – Prävention und Behandlung von arbeitsbedingten Muskel-Skelett-Erkrankungen durch ein ganzheitliches Verständnis biomechanischer und psychosozialer Faktoren in der beruflichen und klinischen Praxis” (workHEALTH – Prevention and Treatment of Work-Related Musculoskeletal Disorders Through a Holistic Understanding of Biomechanical and Psychosocial Factors in Occupational and Clinical Practice) will start at IAW. In addition to IAW, members of the interdisciplinary consortium are the IAM – Institut für Allgemeine Mechanik  (Institute of General Mechanics) at RWTH Aachen University, the Clinic for Orthopedics at Aachen University Hospital, the Institut für Arbeitsschutz der Deutschen Gesetzlichen Unfallversicherung (Institute for Occupational Safety and Health of the German Social Accident Insurance), the Julius Wolff Institute at Charité-Universitätsmedizin Berlin, the Clinic for Anesthesiology at Göttingen University Medical Center, and the Department of Health Psychology at MSB Medical School Berlin GmbH. The goal of workHEALTH is to investigate cross-cutting issues related to the etiology and development of work-related musculoskeletal disorders to enable better prevention and treatment that effectively reduces the prevalence of work-related musculoskeletal disorders.
