Project Start InviDas
BMBF Funds Data Visualizations for More Digital Sovereignty
The BMBF-funded InviDas project started on schedule on May 1, 2020. Together with the Gesellschaft für Informatik e. V., the wearable manufacturer Gamin GmbH, the universities of Bremen and Bamberg as well as the Stiftung Digitale Chancen e.V., RWTH is working on the visualization of data privacy statements.
The background is the increasing collection and analysis of sensitive health data with smart wearables. With the help of interactive visualizations, users should be better informed about the collection of their data and thus increase their self-determination in dealing with digital systems. The graphical representations can map the collected data and show complex relationships. Devices and providers should be made comparable in a virtual dashboard. One's own data profile can be recorded and adjusted in visual data rooms. In addition, the handling of this data is trained in a playful way in virtual escape rooms and reflective action is learned.
