Simulation-Based and Participative Assembly Planning
IAW Presents Project Results in WERKWANDEL
The magazine WERKWANDEL includes interviews, reports, and brief information on current topics in industrial engineering and ergonomics from practice and research. The magazine is published by the Institute of Applied Industrial Engineering and Ergonomics, also known as ifaa, and can be subscribed to for free.
In the current issue, the IAW presents results from the FlexDeMo research project. The article, entitled How SMEs can design innovative assembly systems and take their employees with them, is aimed primarily at specialists and managers in manufacturing companies who are involved in planning assembly systems. The article describes an innovative solution approach for participative and simulation-based assembly planning. The article also refers to the free web applications that have been developed as part of the research project and are designed to assist in managing the complex planning tasks.
The IAW would like to thank the ifaa for the inclusion of the article in WERKWANDEL. The authors are available at any time to answer questions about the article.
The issue is only available in German.
The project is financed with funding provided by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) and the European Social Fund (ESF) under the “Future of work” programme (funding number: 02L18B001) and implemented by the Project Management Agency Karlsruhe (PTKA).
