The sub-project focuses on the promotion of work process orientation in pre-service teacher education in vocations of industry and craftsmanship. The aim is to create learning effective tutorials of real work processes of work activities in the respective occupational fields. By using the authoring system methodology, the media and digital skills of pre-service teachers will be promoted. In addition, a multiplier seminar for lecturers in other subjects of didactics will be developed and offered. In the case of a positive scientific evaluation, the resulting media-didactic format will be included in the curriculum of the academic pre-service teacher education.


Linking theory and practice is an essential part of education for those teaching at vocational schools. A particular challenge is the distinction between knowledge typical for engineers and the knowledge typical for skilled workers. In this context, the constant change and expansion of work processes in skilled work, especially through digital transformation, poses a particular challenge. The optimization and design of manufacturing processes is also becoming increasingly important at the skilled worker level.
In order to be able to respond to the changes in the training and continuing education of skilled workers described at the outset, apprenticeship personnel must be trained in the dual system.
Furthermore, it is not only the advancing digitalization that increasingly demands distinctive digital skills from teaching staff. Other developments in society are also leading to the aforementioned skill area being explicitly implemented in the training of teaching staff.

Both engineers and skilled workers are specialists in the same field, with overlapping but also different professional knowledge. Teachers at vocational schools should be able to link scientific knowledge to the curriculum as well as to know and understand the work processes of skilled workers.
To this end, a seminar concept for the creation of specialized tutorials on real work processes for pre-service teachers of the teaching profession is being developed, implemented, and evaluated. The focus here is on promoting work process orientation as well as media and digital skills. The examination of work processes from the respective vocational specializations takes place via the structured recording and reflection of work processes accompanied by scientific methods and theories.
In a subsequent step, the analyzed work processes are transformed to the level of the teaching person by means of the creation of a digital learning section.
In order to make the knowledge gained during the development, implementation and evaluation of the sub-project available, a multiplier seminar will be developed and carried out.
