Within the presented case study a survey was conducted to investigate the organizational commitment and respective determinants of new restaurant managers in food service industry. Therefore a model was designed to describe relevant influences, The results prove the fact that organizational commitment consists of two dimensions: affective commitment and willingness to quit the job. The following aspects correlated significantly with organizational commitment: the feedback during the integration phase, the perceived corporate image, disppointment of employee`s expectations about the new job and the perceived impact of the personal job performance. Furthermore the importance of training measures could be proved.
